Founded in 1928, the Old Albanian Lodge is a Masonic Lodge established for Old Boys, Masters, Governors and others with connections to St Albans School.
It is one of over 180 Lodges in the Masonic Province of Hertfordshire.
Our members are all ages, from their early 30's to their 90's. It is never too early or too late to join.
Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and benevolent organisations.
It teaches self-knowledge through participation in a progression of ceremonies.
OA Lodge Members are expected to be of high moral standing and are encouraged to speak openly about Freemasonry.
Freemasons focus on building themselves as people of integrity, and membership provides the structure to help achieve that goal
Freemasonry has fostered many life-long friendships.
OA Lodge is developing a programme of social events, beyond our formal meetings, including a presence at all OA Connect events organised by the School.
Freemasons are, and have always been, respectful of others irrespective of their race, religion or sex.
Women’s Freemasonry has been in existence since the early 1900s, where the OA Lodge in conjunction with the School is actively investigating the feasibility of establishing an Old Albanian Ladies’ Lodge.
Charity has been a Masonic core-belief for centuries. And, whilst this remains true, Freemasonry is actively broadening its good deeds by engaging with our local communities through charitable volunteering.
Please let us know if we can help with your local charity.
